Valley Pit is a coal mine in a South Wales valley where coal is taken from the pit head to the screens building by a narrow gauge railway (OO9). The coal is washed and graded in the screens before being loaded into standard gauge wagons (OO) which are then taken down the valley to the seaport for transferring into ships.
